Balance of Raw Milk Market&nbsp;143</P> <P>1. Overview of Chinas Dairy Market<BR>1.1 Growing Trend of Processing Industry of Milk and Dairy Products<BR>1.1.1 Dairy Cattle Inventory<BR>Strategic agricultural reform was commenced a decade ago with animal farming as the priority for support, whereas dairy farming has been accorded importance for development in animal farming due to its backwardness but huge potential. 1997-2008, the dairy farming industry gained substantial growth thanks to policy support, consumption demand and facilitation by dairy processing companies and relevant sectors. The dairy cattle inventory hit 13,879,000 in 2007, up 213.65% from 1997 and the inventory stood at 13,300,000 in 2008 despite the impact from the melamine incident. It fell to 12.18 million heads in the end of the first quarter of 2009 and rallied to 12.57 million heads in the end of the August. The dairy cattle inventory recorded 12.1850 million in 2009, down 8.38% year on year and it was 12.85 million in February 2010.</P> <P>1.1.2 Milk Production<BR>The gross milk production recorded 37,600,000 tons in 2008, up 452.05% from the 6,811,000 tons in 2007. The gross milk production rose pursuant to the improvement of cow yield. The output hit 36.50 million tons in 2009, down 2.93% year on year, the output of cow milk was 35.18 million tons, down 3.64% year on year. The total production of milk rose thanks to the rising of cow yield.</P> <P>1.1.3 Cow Yield<BR>In the past decade, China devoted great effort for improving the domestic dairy cattle breeds through introduction of elite breeds from advanced countries and import of quality breeding embryos and frozen semen, and as a result, the cow yield rose remarkably. Relevant data reflects the cow yield was 4845kg in 2009, 5.90% higher from 2008, or 79.38% higher from 1999.<BR>&nbsp;</P></font><br /> </p></td> </tr> </table></td> </tr> </table></td> </tr> </table></td> <td width="1" align="left" valign="top"></td> <td width="250" align="right" valign="top"> <table width="250" height="73" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="kuang3"> <tr> <td width="250" height="71" align="left" valign="top" background="images/jian3.gif"> <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="/search.asp"> <table width="240" border="0" align="right" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td width="219" height="27"><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td width="19%"></td> <td width="81%">Quick Search</td> </tr> </table></td> <td width="43"></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="30"><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td width="19%" height="25"></td> <td width="81%" valign="middle"><label> <input name="keyword" type="text" size="20" maxlength="20" /> </label></td> </tr> </table></td> <td><label> <input type="image" name="imageField" src="/images/go.jpg" /> </label></td> </tr> </table> </form> </td> </tr> </table> <table width="250" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td height="22" align="left" valign="middle" class="kuang4">New reopts </td> </tr> </table> <table width="250" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td width="250" height="323" align="center" valign="top" class="kuang5"> <table width="248" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td width="31"></td> <td width="257"></td> </tr> <tr><td height="20" colspan="2" align="left" valign="middle" style="padding-left:3px;">·&nbsp;<a href="/report/reports/201008/3/1516.html" target="_blank" title="Research Report on Application of D70 & D90 in the Market of Formula Milk Powder for Infants in China"><font color=""><u>Research Report on Application of D70 & D90 in the Market of Formula Milk Powder for Infants in China&nbsp;<span class=time>(2010-8-3)</span></u></font></a></td></tr><tr><td height="5" colspan="2"></td></tr><tr><td height="20" colspan="2" align="left" valign="middle" style="padding-left:3px;">·&nbsp;<a href="/report/reports/201007/12/1492.html" target="_blank" title="China Food and Beverage Industry Report, 2009-2010"><font color=""><u>China Food and Beverage Industry Report, 2009-2010&nbsp;<span class=time>(2010-7-12)</span></u></font></a></td></tr><tr><td height="5" colspan="2"></td></tr><tr><td height="20" colspan="2" align="left" valign="middle" style="padding-left:3px;">·&nbsp;<a href="/report/reports/201006/25/1472.html" target="_blank" title="China Tomato Products Industry Report, 2009-2010"><font color=""><u>China Tomato Products Industry Report, 2009-2010&nbsp;<span class=time>(2010-6-25)</span></u></font></a></td></tr><tr><td height="5" colspan="2"></td></tr><tr><td height="20" colspan="2" align="left" valign="middle" style="padding-left:3px;">·&nbsp;<a href="/report/reports/201006/7/1470.html" target="_blank" title="Development analysis and prediction report on global infant milk powder industry in 2010-2015"><font color=""><u>Development analysis and prediction report on global infant milk powder industry in 2010-2015&nbsp;<span class=time>(2010-6-7)</span></u></font></a></td></tr><tr><td height="5" colspan="2"></td></tr><tr><td height="20" colspan="2" align="left" valign="middle" style="padding-left:3px;">·&nbsp;<a href="/report/reports/201005/20/1449.html" target="_blank" title="Development analysis and prediction report on global infant milk power industry in 2010-2015"><font color=""><u>Development analysis and prediction report on global infant milk power industry in 2010-2015&nbsp;<span class=time>(2010-5-20)</span></u></font></a></td></tr><tr><td height="5" colspan="2"></td></tr><tr><td height="20" colspan="2" align="left" valign="middle" style="padding-left:3px;">·&nbsp;<a href="/report/reports/201003/4/1386.html" target="_blank" title="Review and Outlook of Chinas Fruit/vegetable Juice/drink Industry 2009-2010"><font color=""><u>Review and Outlook of Chinas Fruit/vegetable Juice/drink Industry 2009-2010&nbsp;<span class=time>(2010-3-4)</span></u></font></a></td></tr><tr><td height="5" colspan="2"></td></tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> <table width="780" height="100" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td height="107" align="center" valign="middle" background="/images/hou1.gif"><p><label>&copy;</label>2008 China Report Hall.
